You are not alone! Hello, my name is Marilyn August. I shared these same frustrations. Money or the lack of it seemed like a giant monster that simply could not be tamed. I worried, was frustrated and just plain scared about not having enough money to pay the bills each month. My earliest memories were of my parents arguing about money, and it seemed the same in my own marriage. Even with good jobs and a college degree, the lack of money controlled my life.
I left a 10-year marriage with only my clothes and two boxes of household items. I thought I was lucky to find a downtown hotel where I could pay by the week. I ignored the strange looking people in the halls and plastic covers on the bed. There was a time when I had to sell a rare antique roll-top desk in order to pay rent. Through these trials and many more, I became determined to solve my money dilemma.
I read the books available at the time and attended many seminars. Paying some of these tuition fees meant not paying my bills. Each time I was convinced that this one would give me the answers to solve my problems. Instead nothing much changed as I blamed myself for being a hopeless case.
Finally after many years of worry, fear and frustration, I began to discover that the answers lay within me. I studied the masters, made my own discoveries, and worked with many different teachers and coaches. Along the way I found my gift as well as a passion for helping others live a purposeful, richly fulfilled life. I am no longer worried or controlled by my bank account. I live a prosperous, purposeful life filled with contribution and possibility.
